The Royal Astronomical Society, founded in 1820, encourages and promotes the study of astronomy, solar-system science, geophysics and closely related branches of science.
I was elected a Fellow in 2009. My principal scientific specialty is stellar spectroscopy, both instrumentation and measurement, but I've latent interests in planetary geomorphology.
