I'm enjoying the last days in our base camp near the Turkwel River. Since the construction of this permanent compound by the Turkana Basin Institute, the fossiliferous areas of the West side of Lake Turkana have witnessed a steady stream of visiting international teams of scientist doing field research in this very remote but visually stunning area. The photo on the left shows me with some of the Kenyan crew.
